R-Type DX -
The shmup action is just as tight as I remember from the arcade, and having it on a GBC cart feels like a perfect fit. I’m impressed they managed to fit the full R-Type experience into a portable cartridge without cutting corners.
The pre-order packaging is incredibly sturdy, and the manual includes a full history of the series that I wasn't expecting. The game itself runs smoothly on my GBC, no slowdown even during the busiest Bydo swarms.
Been waiting ages for the DX version to get a proper physical release, and the collector's edition box art alone was worth it. The cartridge boots fast and the Bydo Empire levels look great on my old GBC screen.
