The layout and photo reproductions in this hardcover are gorgeous—I spent an hour just flipping through the page spreads. It dives deep into the VCS's market context in a way I’ve never seen before.
I grew up playing these Atari games, and this book finally explains the business decisions behind them. The hardcover binding feels sturdy, and the chapter on the market launch is surprisingly detailed.
The production quality on this hardcover is genuinely impressive — thick paper and screenshots that reproduce way better than I expected. It digs into the console's creation and market history without ever feeling like a dry textbook. I finished it in two sittings and immediately wanted a Vol. 2.
