      Under Defeat es un shooter de desplazamiento vertical en el que controlas un helicóptero capaz de moverse en ocho direcciones. Es una experiencia elegante y simplificada con solo dos botones: disparo y bomba, lo que facilita aprenderlo pero difícil dominarlo. Lo que distingue al juego es la mecánica de inclinación: al girar, tus disparos se inclinan ligeramente a la izquierda o a la derecha, permitiendo ataques estratégicos en ángulo. También tienes una pequeña unidad opcional similar a un satélite que dispara de forma independiente. Sin embargo, cargarla requiere que sueltes el botón de disparo durante un tiempo, creando un flujo y reflujo táctico raramente visto en este género de disparos sin cuartel.
